黒部隆名誉教授 岩石・鉱物標本コレクション
東京農工大学農学部生物生産学科土壌学研究室が所蔵する「黒部隆名誉教授 岩石・鉱物標本コレクション」は、672個の岩石標本と211個の近年追加された岩石標本から構成されています。これらの標本は明治から平成にかけて教育用に集められてきたもので、東京帝国大学農科大学実科時代から学生たちの教育に用いられてきたようです。中でも、東京帝国大学元教授の脇水鐵五郎が明治から大正期に集めた標本群(脇水コレクション)は、地質学的にも歴史学的にも重要な標本となっています。地質・土壌学者であった脇水は全国の国定公園や天然記念物の指定に貢献した人物としても知られており、これらの標本を通して行われた研究が、後の天然記念物指定につながっている可能性があり、今後の研究が期待されます。
“KUROBE Takashi’s Rock and Mineral Collection” consists of 672 geological specimens and recently added 211 specimens. This collection was collected during Meiji to Heisei Period for the geological and pedological education. Especially, the “Wakimizu collection” created by Professor Tetsugoro Wakimizu (Tokyo Imperial University) has rare specimens which are nowadays difficult to collect because of the highly protections. Because Wakimizu has been known as a person greatly contributing the designations of National Park and National Monument, and thus, these collections may tell us the processes of such designations.
